Hybrid records vs. document imaging ?
What exactly do you mean by "hybrid records"? What are your evaluation
criteria once you have defined what you mean by hybrid records? Do you
need legal advice, or are you looking for technical solutions, or are
you just looking for a good way to manage your documents?

I guess you need to describe what you mean by Hybrid. In my experience
Hybrid would not only incorporate scanned images from paper but also
work group documents like MS Word, Excel, PDF, JPEG, EDI, ASCII, Text,
etc. Many document management systems on the market today are able to
acommodate a wide variety of information regardless of the source that
created it.

There's the "records management" profession...
There's at least one good email discussion list. Types of documents,
when documents become records, how to manage them are all discussed
regularly.
Probably a good place to look. Lots of sharp people, lots of
actiivity.
Maybe there are other groups on doc management?
Also, check older posts in this group, 1-2 years ago there were some
good discussions here.
